It installs from the file. Below we explain how and why.
The player
Desktop version with the player, the visualiser and the VU meters. Portable: it isn't installed, you unzip it and open it. The equaliser, for now, is only in the Android app.

Important: right-click the ZIP and choose Extract all before opening it. If you browse into the ZIP and run the file from inside, the program starts without its components and won't work. Once extracted, open cmtk_radio.exe.
On the way
There is no iOS app yet, and we would rather say so than leave you looking. The CMTK Radio code is already prepared for iPhone: what's missing isn't writing it, it's compiling it, because Apple requires that to be done from a Mac and published in its store.

Before installing
Why it isn't on Google Play
Because we haven't uploaded it yet. CulturaMiniteka is a not-for-profit project and publishing in the store has its own paperwork; until then, we hand out the app straight from here.
That means your phone will warn you before installing it, as it does with any file that doesn't come from the store. It is a normal warning, not a sign that something is wrong — but always heed it: install only what you download from a site you trust.
Three steps
How to install it
Download the file
Tap “Download the APK”. Your browser will save it to the downloads folder.
Open it
Tap the downloaded file. Android will ask whether you allow apps from this source: allow it for your browser only.
Done
The app appears under the name CMTK Radio. You can revoke that permission afterwards: the app will keep working.
No fine print
What permissions it asks for, and what for
This is the complete list of permissions the app declares, read from the installation file itself. None of them is used for advertising or for tracking you: there is no analytics, no trackers and no account.
Internet and network state
To receive the station's signal and to know when you have lost your connection.
Background playback
So the radio keeps playing with the screen off or while you use another app.
Keep the device awake
To stop the system from cutting the audio to save battery.
Microphone
To move the VU meters and the visualiser bars in time with what is playing. The sound is analysed on the spot and is not recorded, not stored and never leaves the phone.
Notifications
To show the playback controls and to alert you before a show you marked.
Alarms and boot
So show reminders arrive at the exact time even if you have restarted the phone.
Vibration
To confirm player actions by touch.
