Radamés Lebrón, industrial, fundó Radio Capital 710 el 23 de septiembre de 1968 junto a Oswaldo Yepes, Tito Martínez del Box y Radamés Lebrón. El grupo adquirió la frecuencia de La Voz de la Patria 710 AM, emisora de 1937, a monseñor Jesús María Pellín.
La emisora salió al aire con un planteamiento nuevo: la primera dirigida al público joven en Venezuela, con predominio de música en inglés y el lema «La emisora que hace gustar la radio otra vez».
La emisora que organizó la primera guerra
Radio Capital no se limitó a acompañar al movimiento miniteca desde el estudio. Fue la emisora que decidió organizar la primera Guerra de Minitecas en el Poliedro de Caracas, en el marco de una celebración del Colegio San Agustín.
