Origins

Caribbean “La Doble CC” was one of the great minitecas of the eighties tied to the east of the country, in Puerto La Cruz, Anzoátegui state. The magazine credits it to Aquiles Marcano together with Luis Maray, and remembers it as a true musical machine that came to set the standard nationwide under the motto that defined it: clase y calidad — class and quality, the double C.

Unlike so many crews that started out modestly and grew over the years, the magazine stresses that Caribbean began on a grand scale. Anyone who saw it attests that it was, in their words, a musical monster: the biggest of its era, with an unmatched show, and one of the best the miniteca world ever had.

Significance

Caribbean's weight was recorded in one of the most cited confrontations of the movement. In 2003, alongside Miniteca Tridimensión, it starred in a remembered sound clash in which each side rigged around 120 bass bins, a deployment the magazine itself describes as a mark “that to this day has not been surpassed by anyone.”

The name also appears in the technical memory of the era: when reviewing Miniteca Fahrenheit, the magazine mentions the technological support lent to the house it promoted as “el verdadero concierto.”

The official website dates the origin to Caracas (1979), with the arrival in Puerto La Cruz in 1985 and a refounding as “Caribbean Clase y Calidad la doble C” in 2013; the magazine presents it as born in Puerto La Cruz in the 80s. Without a third account to settle the question of origin, the disagreement is recorded without being resolved.
