In search of the sound of Kisses Acetatos

We are working to track down genuine Kisses Acetatos sets in the best possible audio quality. If you keep a cassette, a mix or a jingle, share it through the contact form.

Beginnings

Kisses Acetatos appears on the central Litoral in the early 80s, when the miniteca format was taking hold as a traveling spectacle. Its name points to its booth identity: acetatos as the main medium, live mixing and a repertoire that moved from disco-funk and boogie toward nineties trends.

Sound and stage proposition

A vinyl signature, jingles of its own and a sound chain balanced for medium and large halls. The rig brought together a booth cabinet, mechanical lighting and, at the end of the 80s, programmable effects; the priority was clean transitions and a controlled bass punch.

Discjockeys and voices

The brand had resident and alternate discjockeys (now DJs) who cultivated the “toque litoralense”: dynamic sets, short crossfades and expressive use of edits and 12". Jingle voices reinforced an identity recognizable on the bills of the Litoral and Caracas.
