Memoria Miniteka consolidates its specials slot on CMTK Radio
Since September 8, CMTK Radio presents a new edition of “Memoria Miniteka” every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.; on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, at the same time, listeners can hear earlier programs again.
CMTK Radio keeps Memoria Miniteka on the air, a slot that premiered on September 8 and is devoted to the history of music, its protagonists and the cultural setting that accompanied different generations.
The program airs Monday to Thursday at 8:00 p.m., Miami and Caracas time. A new production premieres every Tuesday, while on the other days earlier editions are rebroadcast for those who want to listen again or could not catch the premiere.
Since its launch, Memoria Miniteka has presented specials on Bee Gees, Queen, Earth, Wind & Fire and Fania All Stars, combining music with historical facts, anecdotes, record-label context and references to the culture of nightclubs, discjockeys and minitecas.
The series also draws on the Cultura Miniteka archive, relating international music to the way it was heard and lived in Venezuela and other Latin American countries.
The next edition will be “Studio 54: Una noche en 1978”, premiering this Tuesday, September 29 at 8:00 p.m. The program will explore the music and the stories around the legendary New York nightclub and will include a special mention of City Hall Caracas and its link to the big sound-system culture of the late seventies.
CMTK Radio is also preparing new installments that will extend the journey to other decades, including a special on the dance sound of the early nineties.
