1980: Explosión de Minitecas (4ª Guerra del Poliedro)

The crowning of Betelgeuse

On July 18, 1980, the Cuarta Guerra del Poliedro — one of the guerras de minitecas, the sound clashes of the movement, with Tony Escobar as special guest — set the seal on Betelgeuse, followed by Music Factory and Lechuga's People.

What is on record

Also known as the Explosión de Minitecas, this fourth confrontation closed the golden cycle of 1979-1980 at the Poliedro. The victory went to Betelgeuse, which thereby consolidated its legend; Music Factory and Lechuga's People completed the podium, with Rhythm Disco and The Fog in fourth and fifth place. Betelgeuse's official account adds the sponsorship of radio figures of the period (Musiuito Lacavalerie, Enrique Hoffman) and a vast crowd.
