In 1982 the Gimnasio Lubumba in Puerto La Cruz hosted the first Guerra de Minitecas — the sound clashes of the movement — in the east of the country, presented by Porteñas 640 AM; Best Music won it.

The first Guerra de Minitecas of Puerto La Cruz took the format of the Caracas battles to eastern Venezuela. It was held at the Gimnasio Lubumba, presented by the station Porteñas 640 AM, and first place went to Best Music.
