The history

Baci opened its doors in 1985 in the old center of Puerto Ordaz, Estado Bolívar, Venezuela. Its owner was Carlos Carli, also the owner of Ártica, one of the iconic stores of the city. The discotheque was located in the Centro Comercial Ártica —which shares its name with the store— known for the remembered slogan: “Y si preguntan por mí, estoy en ÁRTICA” —and if they ask for me, I am at ÁRTICA.

The opening was in the hands of the discjockey (now DJ) Oscar Hernández as special guest, marking the beginning of a space that would soon become a very special and unforgettable place for those who knew the old center of the city.

On its stage performed artists and discjockeys of national and international standing, strengthening a nightlife circuit that defined an era in the cultural life of Puerto Ordaz.

Context and experience

Located in the heart of the old center of the city of Puerto Ordaz, the Baci stood out for its club aesthetic and its musical curation. The closeness to the booth, the carefully arranged setting, a dance floor on a par with the great discotheques of the world and a faithful community of regulars made every night an unforgettable experience.
