The creator of Maui

Arturo Gutiérrez is the creator and owner of the miniteca Maui (Maui Discplay), a crew associated with Guatire (Miranda state). According to the magazine's mention, he created it around the middle of the eighties (≈1985), and over time Maui remained in the memory of the scene as one of the leading crews —remembered by its followers as “la #1 de Venezuela”, the number one in Venezuela.

As the owner of a miniteca, Gutiérrez belongs to that category of hidden figures who hold a crew up from behind: the Maui brand became famous, but its owner's name circulates above all in the testimony of the miniteca community itself.
