In search of the sound of La Cosa Nostra

What is on record

La Cosa Nostra was a miniteca from Mérida, and one of the twelve that took part in the LP “Invasión de Minitecas” (Magic Record's, 1986), mixed by Oscar Hernández. The cover of the record letters it on one of its rockets; the back-cover acknowledgments list places it in Mérida state.

The transcription of that list that circulates in the discographic records names it in English as “The Nostra Thing” — the same transcription also translates La Máquina as “The Machine” — while the cover of the copy prints “La Cosa Nostra”. The name lettered on the record is the one adopted.
