DJ Qchi

Since 1978, from La Lechuga to five decades in the booth

José Leonardo Chacín started out in 1978 at the La Lechuga discotheque in Caracas and never let go of the decks: one of the earliest documented starts in this collection.

What is on record

In 1978, at the fondly remembered La Lechuga discotheque in Caracas, DJ Qchi began his career as a professional discjockey. That doorway led to a run that has never stopped: venues in Caracas and other cities across the country, corporate events, themed parties and musical shows he also organized and directed.

His repertoire strolls from the 70s to today's charts, and the circuit knows him for making several generations dance at once. Later profiles place him at venues such as Gypsy Club, Club Mau-Mau, Génesis Discotheque and Barbarella Club in Valencia, and today he hosts the show “El Qchitril” within the Mi Tocadisco project.
