1976 turns half a century: the crop of albums that marked a generation

The year the Venezuelan minitecas began to multiply was also one of recorded music's most fertile: in 2026, Stevie Wonder's “Songs in the Key of Life,” the Ramones' debut, Queen's “A Day at the Races” and Bob Marley's “Rastaman Vibration” turn fifty, among dozens of titles the music press is celebrating in anniversary lists.

A good part of that repertoire played at the Caracas parties of the era — and it still plays on the signal.
