“Las Súper Noches” went out over the signal of Radio Capital 710 AM —the radio station that organized the first guerra de minitecas (the sound clashes of the movement) at the Poliedro de Caracas— on Fridays between 10 at night and 1 in the morning. What it offered was exactly the soundtrack of the minitecas of the second half of the 80s: a show devoted entirely to Dance, Hi-NRG and Eurobeat, with predictions of the number ones on the dance charts of Europe and the United States and a mixed-music segment christened “Hi NRG Mix.”
The voices
It was hosted by the announcer Alejandro Rhode —the same voice the minitecas magazine credits on Banana Power's founding jingles—, together with the music programmer Sonia Adrián. The show stayed on the air until 1989, when Rhode moved to Éxitos 107.3 FM, the newborn La Mega, to carry on the same dance line with his mixshows.
