Tropa de Vacaciones
The Bridge Between the Street, the Booth and the Screen
The RCTV show that turned the miniteca phenomenon into a national television spectacle.
A television stage for mobile power
In the 90s, miniteca culture was living through one of its most explosive moments: technology in the booth, visual shows, star DJs and competitions all over Venezuela. In the middle of that boom, RCTV premiered La Tropa de Vacaciones, a youth show broadcast during the holiday seasons that became a privileged showcase for the miniteca movement.
Format: a youth magazine show with live music
With a fresh, colorful and dynamic look, the show combined contests, comedy, live talent and musical blocks. Unlike other slots, La Tropa de Vacaciones brought the minitecas in as a central part of the spectacle, letting them show their mixes, their technical setup, their hosting and their staging in front of the cameras.
