What is on record

Of Fantasma an archive photograph of its rig is kept: the booth lettered with the name at the center of the hall, flanked by two walls of speaker cabinets with the boxes marked “FANTASMA”, light spheres and ornamental plants.

The memory of the scene places it among the minitecas active in San Cristóbal, Táchira state, in the eighties — alongside names such as Escalibur, Scarlata, Scorpion Line, Infierno, Laser, Explosion People and Ambitus — which livened up venues such as the Club Táchira and the city's Círculo Militar. The miniteca is still going today.

A second photograph —the same wine-red cabinet, with its distinctive curved base, already recognizable in the first image— shows it at a simpler, open-air setup, and reveals its full slogan: “Fantasma, la disco móvil perfecta.”

Not to be confused

This is the Táchira MINITECA Fantasma. It should not be confused with “Fantasma”, the alias of a discjockey who passed through the booth of The Rainbow (Coro, Falcón state), documented separately in the Archive: they are different entries that share nothing but the name.
