Identity and purpose

New York New York is one of the most emblematic minitecas in Venezuela, a symbol of technical innovation, energy on stage and professional stagecraft since the first years of the 1980s. Across more than four decades it has kept its name, its prestige and its style, establishing itself as a benchmark of mobile entertainment inside and outside the country.

Founded in 1980, New York New York was born with the purpose of bringing the professional club format —sound, lighting and production— to public and private events, setting a standard unheard of at the time. Popularly known as “La New York,” it is credited with having driven the term “miniteca” toward its later recognition by the Real Academia Española (RAE), which is part of its cultural legacy.
