What is on record

On the Caracas side of the bill of the “Doble Estallido de Minitecas” (El Poliedro de Caracas, International Youth Year, 1985; organized by the Sindicato de Radio y TV and the F.C.U.) the miniteca “Stereoteca” appears. The poster — a primary source of the CMTK Archive — confirms its existence and participation as a Caracas miniteca in 1985.

Oscar Leal's testimony

The discjockey Oscar Leal — whose Archive entry is based on material he provided himself — lists “Stereoteka (1985)” among his first projects, right after La Tortuga (1983) and before La Lechuga (1986). That protagonist's testimony confirms that the miniteca was active in 1985 — the same year as the Doble Estallido on whose bill it appears — and links Leal directly to it.

The spelling: “Stereoteka” with a k

The definitive spelling of the name is “Stereoteka,” with a k. Two pieces of evidence agree on it: the crew's own hardware — an archive photograph of the transport shows the booth cabinet lettered “STEREOTEKA” on the vehicle, a primary source — and the trajectory of the discjockey Oscar Leal, who lists “Stereoteka (1985)” among his first projects.

Variants coexist in the written sources: the poster of the “Doble Estallido” (1985) printed “Stereoteca” (with a c) and other mentions call it “Stereotek de La Salle.” It is the same name; “Stereoteka” is adopted as the canonical spelling and the variants are kept only as quotations from each source. What remains to be confirmed is its full identity (the same “Stereotek de La Salle”?) and the terms of the merger with La Tortuga referred to in the history of Betelgeuse.
