Career

Charlie Bóveda, also known as “Charly,” began his career as a discjockey (now DJ) in the 1980s, first as part of Miniteca Sandy Lane. After Sandy Lane was sold to the owner of Betelgeuse, he joined that legendary project and established himself as one of the most remembered discjockeys of the era.

During those years he performed on emblematic stages such as the Poliedro de Caracas, the Parque Naciones Unidas and many other spaces that shaped the history of the miniteca movement in Venezuela.

The return in 2007

After a long retirement devoted to his profession outside the world of music, Charlie Bóveda came back briefly in 2007 alongside Tony Escobar and the original founders of Miniteca Sandy Lane. It was a reunion in which they lit up the Fiesta de los 80 at the Hotel Eurobuilding in Caracas, reminding the audience why his name was engraved in the memory of an entire generation.
