Feats in the booth

Two episodes define him in The Fashion's account. In his first guerra de discjockeys, at the Club de Comercio in Ciudad Bolívar, with barely two semi-professional turntables and against rivals who already had Technics MkII 1200 decks, he took Second Place. And on a tour to Santa Elena de Uairén, in a clash against Brazilian discjockeys, the draw put him on first to mix; after seeing him, nobody else wanted to go up on stage: they considered him a monster.

With The Fashion —later The Fashion Discplay— he shared the stage with Hot Way, Scooby Doo, Roseland, Sono Power and Night People, and measured himself against minitecas from elsewhere such as La Máquina of Valencia and Infierno, which the crew went so far as to beat in a guerra de discjockeys.

The three turntables, still

That skill with two, three and four turntables did not stay in the account of the eighties: he still mixes on three Technics turntables, with a head lamp to read the labels in the half-light and records bearing his own tag on the platter.

His personal account preserves the alias by which he is known on the scene today: “superdeylor”.
