The dance mix show that Alejandro Rhode took to Éxitos 107.3 FM —the newborn La Mega— when he moved over from Radio Capital in 1989, carrying on the air the musical line of the miniteca dance floors.

When Éxitos 107.3 FM —today La Mega— started up in 1988 as one of the first commercial FM stations in Venezuela, among its founding voices was Alejandro Rhode, the dance announcer of Radio Capital 710 and of Banana Power's founding jingles. On closing his stint at “Las Súper Noches” (1989), Rhode carried the mix format over to the new signal: the radio memory of Caracas records his show “Hot Mix” on Éxitos 107.3 FM, and the announcer's official biography lists it as “Happy Rhode Hot Mix,” one of his Dance shows along with the later “Mix Factory.”
The radio link of the 90s
The dance mixshow on FM was the natural heir of the mix shows of the AM band (La Musiteca, El Proyecto 750, Las Súper Noches): the music of the minitecas playing on commercial radio, now in FM stereo and for the generation of the 90s. Late recordings of “Mix Factory” survive (from the year 2000, already outside the Archive's period of coverage), and they confirm the continuity of the line.
