What it is

Minitecas TV is a contemporary digital outlet —not a period archive— devoted entirely to the history, the culture and the evolution of the minitecas. It presents itself as “tu canal de música y videos” and as a space for lovers of professional sound, audio systems and the legacy of the great minitecas of Venezuela. Its identity motto on social media is “Recordando las mejores Minitecas de Venezuela.”

Unlike the accounts that only upload loose clips, Minitecas TV works with a recognizable format: stories narrated in a documentary tone about legendary minitecas, profiles of DJs and crews, and material on the technology, the comparisons and the technical details of the trade. The channel was founded by DJ Grego, a Venezuelan discjockey (now DJ) and announcer with a presence of his own on Spotify, SoundCloud, Facebook and YouTube (he has an entry of his own in the collection “One Mixshow, One Name”). His label “Grego Entertainment” appears recurrently in the brand's ecosystem —for example, as the owner of the original audio in its posts—, consistent with that authorship.

Note on identity

The explicit motto “Recordando las mejores Minitecas de Venezuela” and its content (ZC, Caribbean, Infierno, among others) confirm that this is the channel tied to the Venezuelan minitecas and not a namesake. There is also a different channel, “MINITECAS DE VENEZUELA,” which should not be confused with Minitecas TV.
