The hit parade of la Todopoderosa

“Pegaditas 750” was one of the flagship music shows of Caracas 750 Dinámica, the youth AM radio station that in the 80s was the natural ally of the miniteca movement: it sponsored Betelgeuse, Sandy Lane and New York People and it organized guerras de minitecas —the sound clashes of the movement— at the Poliedro de Caracas. The show gathered the “pegados” hits of the moment —the same music that was playing on the minitecas' dance floors— and radio memory places it Monday through Friday from 5 to 6 in the afternoon and Saturdays from 10 in the morning to 12 noon.

The voices

At the helm were Ramón Antonio Mata Bellorín and Julián Isaac, the pair who in 1985 set the world record of 125 hours of continuous broadcasting from this same station. Both have an entry of their own in this Archive's Voices That Left a Mark collection.

Note on documentary limits

The show's existence, its hosts and its time slots are recorded by the radio memory of Caracas; no period audio has been located yet, nor the exact years the show began and ended. It is presented with those limits declared. Its miniteca connection is the station's —sponsor of minitecas and of the Poliedro sound clashes—, not a documented alliance of the show itself.
