Two names, one crew

Massimo Coletta and Paolo Caiazzo founded the miniteca New York People in 1982. According to the miniteca account, they were students when they put the rig together, which went on to be one of the benchmark minitecas of Caracas, with the New York skyline booth as its seal. At the end of the 80s Carlos Visconti joined to reinforce the crew, with the aim of expanding the coverage areas of its services.

Professional discjockeys (now DJ) of the Caracas scene passed across its stage, and the crew had the backing of the radio station Caracas 750. This entry documents the two founders as hidden figures: the names behind the brand, beyond the mixers who were the public face.
