What is on record

On the bill of the “Doble Estallido de Minitecas” (El Poliedro de Caracas, International Youth Year, 1985; organized by the Sindicato de Radio y TV and the F.C.U.) the miniteca “Tortuga” appears on the Caracas side. That poster — a primary source of the CMTK Archive — confirms its existence and its participation as a Caracas miniteca in 1985.

Oscar Leal's testimony

The discjockey Oscar Leal — whose Archive entry is based on material he provided himself — lists “La Tortuga (1983)” among his first projects, between Sticky Music (1982) and Stereoteka (1985). That protagonist's testimony establishes that La Tortuga was active at least from 1983 and links Leal directly to the miniteca two years before the Doble Estallido.

Connection with Stereotek (still to be documented)

The history of the miniteca Betelgeuse — collected in the Archive — states that “La Tortuga merged with Stereotek.” Oscar Leal's trajectory is consistent with that account: in his run, La Tortuga (1983) is followed by Stereoteka (1985) as the immediate project. The exact terms of the merger (when, how, between whom) are still to be confirmed: what is recorded is the consistency of the sources, not the merger declared as a closed fact.
