A Cúcuta miniteca that the regional press counts, alongside Macro Efectus, among the two most renowned houses of the Colombian-Venezuelan border; it fought a sound clash in 1987 and returned to battle in 2023.

What is on record
Stereos 1090 is one of the historic minitecas of Cúcuta, Norte de Santander. La Opinión, the city's newspaper, counts it alongside Macro Efectus among “the two most renowned minitecas” of the border, with Alirio Hernández Bustamante as owner and Juan Contreras as its first owner. The same paper records that it “counted on the support of Venezuelan minitecas, always innovating in sound”, and attributes a family tie between its first owner and Gustavo Contreras, whom it names as owner of Venezuela's Infierno — the paper's attribution, which this Archive has not corroborated.
Its rivalry with Macro Efectus was caught on tape: a video of a 1987 guerra de minitecas between the two houses circulates online. And decades later it was still in the battle: on November 4, 2023 it defended Colombia alongside First Class in Cúcuta's binational sound clash, facing the Venezuelan ZC and Infierno — both with entries in this Archive.
