Henry Zakka

He is, therefore, a widely documented public figure whose biography does not depend on the miniteca archive. What matters here is the exact point at which his voice crosses paths with the culture of the minitecas.

His mark on miniteca culture: the first voices of ZC

In its early days, Miniteca ZC — one of the great crews of the scene — took particular care over the sound identity of its spots. As recorded both by “La Revista de las Minitecas” (DJ Vladimir Medina edition) and by ZC's own official history, the first voices of its jingles were recorded by the actor Henry Zakka, at the time a figure at RCTV. The miniteca's live presentation was in the hands of the announcer Enrique Hoffman (of 1090 Estéreo), while the original recording of the spots carried Zakka's voice.

That crossing illustrates a practice of the time: the most prestigious minitecas hired professional voices and well-known faces from radio and television so that their jingles would sound like an established brand. That a miniteca could show off the voice of an RCTV actor on its spots was, in itself, a sign of status.

There is no evidence that Zakka had a continued connection with the movement beyond this founding recording for ZC: it was a one-off collaboration, well documented, not a career inside the minitecas.
