The archetype of the owner-technician

Natalio embodies one of the most characteristic hidden figures of the miniteca movement: the owner who is also the technician and the equalizer of the rig. While the discjockeys (now DJ) mixed facing the crowd, it was his ear that decided how Budgie sounded each night —the balance of lows, mids and highs, the matching of the cabinets, the relationship between power and cleanliness—. That figure, invisible from the dance floor, is the one who made the show possible.

Budgie on pause

In the early 2000s, Natalio put Budgie's machine on pause in order to devote himself to other businesses, thus closing the crew's active period under his technical direction.

External findings (attributed, with caution)

A specialist blog from the east (lamejormusicadelos80.blogspot.com, 2008) independently corroborates the central data —Natalio “el Turco” as owner and technician of Budgie, his equalization style “low, mid and high”, the “most defined ear” and the base in Barcelona/Lechería/Puerto La Cruz— and adds data that do NOT appear in the magazine and that come from that single amateur source, without independent documentary corroboration.

These points are offered as context attributed to that source, not as confirmed facts. It has not been possible to establish Natalio's surname, his date of birth or the exact founding dates of Budgie, and they are not invented:

• · Budgie is said to have won the 1st guerra de minitecas —the sound clashes of the movement— of the east at the Club de Leones de Barcelona (1980), with the miniteca Yes as its closest rival, and the 2nd sound clash at the Centro de Profesionales de Lechería (1985).
• · In 1986 it is said to have competed at the Centro Español de Puerto La Cruz against Sandy Lane, New York New York, Betelgeuse, Empire, The Drop and Infierno.
• · Among its mixers, Luis Bolívar, Lalo, Tony Graffe, Curry and Johnny Moubayed (“El Emperador”) are cited.
• · The same blog states that Natalio died on May 13, 2011.
