Origin and golden era
Budgie emerges at the end of the 70s and reaches its peak in the 80s, remaining active through the 90s. At the beginning of the 2000s, its founder Natalio “El Turco” Moubayed puts the operation on hold to focus on other businesses connected with the youth world. In its region, it was considered by many the number one in eastern Venezuela.
Sound clashes and big stages
From then on, Budgie faced minitecas from all over Venezuela, standing out for its stage power and its solidity in the mix.
- · 1980 — Winner of the Guerra de Minitecas —the sound clashes of the movement— at the Club de Leones de Barcelona (close rival: Miniteca Yes).
- · 1985 — First place at the 2nd Guerra of the Centro Profesionales de Lechería; it represents Oriente at the Centro Español de Puerto La Cruz (third national estallido) alongside Sandy Lane, New York New York, Betelgeuse, Empire, The Drop and Infierno.
