What is on record
Les Gamins was a Caracas miniteca from the start of the eighties. What is on record with any certainty is limited: its name, its city and its part in the miniteca scene of the Complejo Naciones Unidas in Caracas, where it shared a stage with ZC, MK II, Nasty and Green Line. Its discjockey was José Miguel, cited by the discjockey Ángel Matt (of ZC).
The Complejo Naciones Unidas in Caracas was indeed the home of the great miniteca gatherings of the period —the “guerras” / “explosiones” de minitecas of the mid-eighties, the sound clashes of the movement—, a setting whose existence and the presence of ZC and Nasty are documented independently (records of sets from those events). This supports the context in which the magazine places Les Gamins, though it does not yet supply data on the miniteca's founding, owners or equipment.
