“DJ Edy Betancourt” appears among the discjockeys of Maui Discplay —a miniteca/mobile discotheque conceived by Arturo Gutiérrez in the mid-1980s—, according to the chronicle in “La Revista de las Minitecas” and the live entry for the name in the MiniTK Archive (collection “Minitecas: Mobile Power”), which links him with DJ Diablo, DJ Tony, DJ Ranses, DJ Javier and DJ Niño. Maui's official voice for more than fifteen years was Waldemaro Martínez (an announcer with his own entry); that role does not correspond to Betancourt. “DJ” is kept because it is an alias.
