Michael Jackson: From the Moonwalk to Eternity

Michael Jackson is known all over the world as the King of Pop, an artist who revolutionized music, dance and the popular culture of the twentieth century. Born on 29 August 1958 in Gary, Indiana, he began his career at only 5 years old as part of the Jackson 5, a group formed with his brothers. With hits such as "I Want You Back" and "ABC", he quickly showed an extraordinary talent that led him to become a solo artist in the early 70s, beginning a career that would change the history of modern music.

In 1979 he released "Off the Wall", his first great solo album, produced by Quincy Jones, which already established him as an international star with tracks such as "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Rock with You". But the real phenomenon arrived in 1982 with "Thriller", the best-selling record of all time, with more than 65 million copies around the world. Songs such as "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and the iconic "Thriller", accompanied by its groundbreaking music video, catapulted him to an unmatched status. His videoclips broke barriers on MTV, raising the music video to an art form.

Michael Jackson's style was not limited to music: the way he danced left its mark on generations. The famous "Moonwalk", presented to the world in 1983 during the performance of "Billie Jean", became an emblematic move that is still imitated today by dancers all over the planet. His clothing, such as the red Thriller jacket, the white glove with rhinestones and the black loafers, became universal symbols of pop culture.

Through the 80s and 90s he went on breaking records with albums such as "Bad" (1987), which included five number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, "Dangerous" (1991) with the powerful "Black or White", and "HIStory" (1995), which combined greatest hits with new productions. His world tours, such as the Bad World Tour and the HIStory World Tour, drew millions of fans, making him one of the most-seen live artists of all time.

Throughout his career, Michael Jackson was also a committed philanthropist. He supported humanitarian causes, the fight against hunger and children's aid projects. Songs such as "We Are the World", co-written with Lionel Richie in 1985, are an example of his wish to use music as a tool of unity and hope.
