Carlos Simoza

The voice of Energía, Infierno Sweet and Hot Music

The voice of the minitecas of Guayana across three crews: Energía in the 70s, Infierno Sweet in the early 80s and Hot Music from 1984 to 1987 — with the Roland echo chamber as his signature and staging as his craft.

Three minitecas, one voice

Carlos Simoza was the voice of three crews on the Guayana scene: the miniteca Energía in the 70s, Infierno Sweet in the early 80s and, from 1984 to 1987, Hot Music. In 1984 he joined Guayana's “La Number One” with the group coming from Energía and Infierno Sweet, alongside Enrique Rojas and Carlos Luis Valenzuela, and on its roster he appeared with the job that defines him: host and live voice.

He was not the man of the recorded jingle. He presented live, and his voice introductions and his musical stings are still among the things people in Guayana remember from those stages. His presentations were innovative for the time.
